Power Contactors And Relays

A contactor is a large relay, usually used to switch current to an electric motor or another high-power load. Large electric motors can be protected from overcurrent damage through the use of overload heaters and overload contacts. A contactor is an electrically-controlled switch used for switching an electrical power circuit. A contactor is typically controlled by a circuit, which has a much lower power level than the switched circuit, such as a 24-volt coil electromagnet controlling a 230-volt motor switch. When a relay is used to switch a large amount of electrical power through its contacts, it is designated by a special name called contactor.

Specifications :
  • Electrical contactors are used to switch high power in power circuits.
  • The maximum switching current.
  • Aerospace contactors are high-performance, high-capacity.
  • The maximum alternating current (AC) / direct current (DC) switching voltage.
  • frequency of contactors operate at 50 Hz, 60 Hz and 400 Hz
  • Contactors are integrally mounted on a printed circuit board (PCB, PC board)
  • Contactors connect to wiring via a standard socket or plug.
Applications :
  • Lighting Control
  • Magnetic Starter
  • Vacuum Contactor
  • Mercury Relay
  • Mercury-wetted Relay
